Types of discrimination

– Direct discrimination: when distinction is made based on age, sex, disability, race etc.

– Indirect discrimination: when there’s a rule or a policy which supports a person of specific age, sex, disability, race etc.

– Perceptive discrimination: when a person is perceived to be of a specific age, sex, disability or race, irrespective of him/her actually being of that particular age, sex, disability or race.

– Associative discrimination: when a person is discriminated based on his/her association with another person of a specific age, sex, disability or race.
