  • Can you describe how you would coordinate the distribution of a high volume of goods across multiple locations?
  • How do you stay up-to-date with evolving trends and advancements in freight forwarding technologies and software?
  • Have you ever had to deal with a major logistics crisis, such as a port shutdown or natural disaster? If so, can you explain your approach and solution?
  • Can you walk me through your experience in managing relationships with carriers, vendors, and other shipping partners?

STAR interview questions

1. Can you describe a situation in which you were tasked with managing a shipping project?

2. What were your specific responsibilities as a shipping manager in that project and how did you prioritize them?

3. What actions did you take to ensure the successful completion of the project, such as managing logistics or overseeing the quality control of goods being shipped?

4. What were the results of your actions? For example, did the project meet its deadline and budget, and were the shipped items of high quality?

5. Have you ever encountered unexpected challenges or roadblocks as a shipping manager? What actions did you take to overcome these obstacles and what were the final results?
