The goal for a successful interview for an Architectural Designer is for the candidate to showcase their creativity and technical knowledge in designing functional and aesthetically pleasing structures, as well as their ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with project stakeholders.
Situational interview questions
- Imagine you’ve been tasked with designing a building that will be located in a region with harsh weather conditions. In your design process, how would you ensure that the building is able to withstand these weather conditions while still maintaining an attractive and functional design?
- One of your clients has requested a unique and complex building design that they believe will set them apart from their competitors. As an Architectural Designer, how would you approach this project and what steps would you take to ensure the design meets their requirements while still being structurally sound and functional?
- A project you’ve been working on for months requires significant changes to the design in order for it to meet the project’s goals. The deadline for the project is rapidly approaching. What steps would you take to ensure that the project is delivered on time while still incorporating the necessary changes to the design?
