Exit interview is the final meeting, formal or informal, between management and the departing employee.

Exit interviews are performed in order to gather information on why the employee is leaving, tie up loose ends and to ensure that all post-exit administrative tasks on both sides are understood.

Importance of exit interview

Exit interviews are a very important source of feedback for the employer. They shows the employee’s reason for leaving the company and give a good insight of the team he/she worked in.

They also uncover serious issues like harassment, discrimination, violence before they turn into lawsuits. Through exit interviews, companies can achieve a lower turnover and higher employee satisfaction in the long run.
