Blind engagement is a term which refers to the automation of communication on social media. Social marketing software makes it easy for brands to share content on social media and has become the modern way of how companies do business.

The side effect that occurs is the over reliance of social automation including automatic thank you’s, shares and even follows which are all examples of blind engagement and it has the potential to hurt brand reputation.

The term was coined by HR marketer founder Mark Willaman.
