The goal for a successful interview for a Room Attendant is to demonstrate a strong attention to detail, a positive and friendly attitude, and the ability to work efficiently and independently while maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in guest rooms.

  • You’re assigned to clean the room of a guest who has been smoking in the room, leaving behind a strong smell and ash all over the furniture. How would you address the issue while ensuring the guest’s comfort and satisfaction during their stay?

  • A guest has requested a specific type of bedding that is not readily available in the hotel’s supply. How would you address the request while ensuring prompt service and attention to the guest’s needs?

– Result: Whether or not the guest was satisfied with the result of the request and what feedback you received.

3. Have you ever been in a situation where you discovered damages in a guest room that required immediate attention?

– Situation: Discovering damages in a guest room that require immediate attention.

– Task: Your responsibilities to rectify the situation.

– Action: The steps you took to identify and address the damages in a timely and effective manner.

– Result: Whether or not you were able to resolve the issue, and how the guest responded to the resolution.

4. Can you walk me through a specific instance where you were tasked with ensuring a room met a certain standard of cleanliness or was prepared to a specific standard for a VIP guest?

– Situation: A VIP guest is arriving and the room must meet a specific standard of cleanliness or preparation.

– Task: Your responsibilities to ensure the room is appropriately cleaned and prepped.

– Action: Your specific actions taken to ensure that the room was prepared to the required standards.

– Result: Whether or not the VIP guest was satisfied with the room, and how you dealt with any issues or challenges that arose.

5. Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you needed to work with other housekeeping staff to meet a deadline or address a specific challenge?

– Situation: Needing to work with other housekeeping staff to meet a deadline or address a specific cleaning challenge.

– Task: Your individual and group responsibilities to complete the task.

– Action: The steps you took to coordinate and collaborate with other housekeeping staff to address the situation or challenge.

– Result: Whether or not the group was able to complete the task on time or address the challenge effectively.
