We are looking for a skilled Pipefitter who will be responsible for installing, assembling, and maintaining piping systems. In this position, you will be expected to read and interpret blueprints, cut, thread, and hammer pipes to specifications, and test systems for leaks. You will also be responsible for repairing and modifying existing systems as needed.

Pipefitter duties and responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints and piping drawings to determine layout and installation of pipe systems
  • Cut, thread, and bend pipes to required shapes using hand and power tools
  • Install and maintain piping systems, fixtures, and equipment
  • Inspect and test piping systems for leaks and other defects, and make necessary repairs
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as welders and plumbers, to complete projects
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes
  • Operate and maintain tools and equipment in a safe and efficient manner
  • Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used

Pipefitter requirements and qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Experience in pipefitting and plumbing systems
  • Knowledge of welding and soldering techniques
  • Physical strength and stamina to lift heavy equipment and materials
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a pipefitting apprenticeship program or equivalent experience
  • Valid pipefitting and plumbing licenses and certifications
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and techniques
