Computer Technician Interview Questions

The goal for a successful interview for a Computer Technician is for the interviewer to assess the candidate’s technical skills and problem-solving abilities, to determine if they have the necessary experience and knowledge to effectively diagnose and repair computer systems, and to evaluate their communication skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a technical support team.

Situational interview questions

  • Imagine you’re working on a customer’s computer, and you encounter an error message that you’ve never seen before. How would you approach solving the issue while maintaining good communication with the customer?
  • You’ve just been assigned to diagnose and fix a recurring issue with a computer system that has stumped multiple technicians in the past. How would you go about breaking down the problem and coming up with a solution?
