Account Manager Interview Questions

The goal for a successful interview for an Account Manager is to demonstrate their ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, showcase their knowledge of sales techniques and strategies, and provide examples of how they have successfully resolved conflicts with clients in the past.

Situational interview questions

  • You are a senior account manager and a top client of yours is unhappy with the service provided by your company. The client has threatened to end the partnership. How would you handle this situation?
  • A new client has joined your portfolio, but you have discovered that their previous account manager departed on negative terms. The client is skeptical about your abilities to manage their account. How would you gain the client’s trust and ensure their satisfaction?
  • One of your clients has experienced a significant decline in sales, and they are blaming their lack of success on your account team. How would you investigate this issue and present a solution to the client?

Action: The steps taken to ensure everyone in the team was working together effectively
