Child Care Teacher Interview Questions

The goal for a successful interview for a Child Care Teacher is for the interviewer to assess their experience and qualifications in early childhood education, their ability to create a safe and nurturing environment for children, and their capacity to follow and implement lesson plans that promote children’s physical, cognitive, and emotional development.

Situational interview questions

  • Imagine a child in your class is having difficulty sharing toys with their peers. How would you approach this situation and encourage the child to share in a respectful manner?
  • A child in your care is having trouble completing their daily activities, such as getting dressed and eating meals, resulting in a loss of playtime. How would you support this child in completing their tasks and ensuring they have ample playtime?
  • One of the children in your class is displaying aggressive behavior towards their peers. What steps would you take to address this behavior and help the child find alternate ways to express themselves?
  • A parent approaches you with concerns that their child is struggling to make friends in your class. How would you approach this situation to help the child form positive relationships with their peers?

  • In your opinion, what is the most crucial quality for a child care teacher to possess, and how do you demonstrate it in your work?
